When it first arrived on the Android Market, AirSync offered something of a one up on iPhone users tethered to the abomination that it is iTunes – Wi-Fi synching. One iOS update later, however, and this is one feature which Apple fans also have.
Double Twist show just how it should be done, though, with one of the most easy to use apps out there for something that has always been a pain.
Load the app up and it takes a little while to synch with your music library. We were impressed, though, with just how thorough it was. Once this was done you can tell the app to stay synched with your collection or you can manually sort your music out from here on in.
While you have to bare in mind that you need Double Twist for AirSync to actually work, the two apps work brilliantly together – yes it is a bit of a splurge to purchase Wi-Fi synching, considering over USB is actually free – but it’s amazing how much a difference is makes when you are not tethered by cables.
And Double Twist is just a brilliant application. You can stack tracks together – why has this never come to iTunes? – there’s a bundle of widgets to make the experience easier and the whole look of the thing makes it a joy to use.
